Gretchen McGinnis, Member of Colorado Access Executive Team, Brings Unique Health Care Experience to Division of Insurance Primary Care Payment Reform Collaborative

DENVER – Gretchen McGinnis, senior vice president of health care systems and accountable care at Colorado Access, has been selected to serve on the Division of Insurance Primary Care Payment Reform Collaborative. The Collaborative, having most recently met on August 19, 2019, focuses on improving primary care and offering recommendations to the insurance commissioner about affordability in Colorado, and will develop strategies for increased investments in primary care that deliver the right care in the right place at the right time.

“I’m honored to represent all the work that Colorado Access has done to support the work our primary care providers do,” says McGinnis. With over 20 years of health care experience, McGinnis brings a unique understanding of health care systems and public policy to the Collaborative.

The 19 members of the Collaborative work as health care providers, consumers and advocates, health insurers, and other roles within the health care industry. They were all selected by the Colorado Division of Insurance (DOI). The group will work with the DOI and will consult with the Department of Health Care Policy & Finance, the Department of Personnel & Administration, and the Colorado All-Payer Claims Database (APCD).

Members commit four to six hours per month for the first year, which runs from July 2019 to June 2020. There are one to two meetings per month, covering topics ranging from carrier reimbursement practices to affordability standards.
