October 1, 2026 - Immigrant Eligibility Changes

Beginning October 1, federal law changes which immigration groups may qualify for full Health First Colorado coverage. These changes will affect some members who currently receive benefits.

Many Health First Colorado members will not be affected. Members who may be impacted will receive official communication from Health First Colorado before changes to their coverage take effect.

2027 - Work Requirements

New federal requirements will affect some adults enrolled in Health First Colorado. Some members may need to meet work, education, volunteer or other requirements to maintain coverage. Many members are expected to qualify for exemptions.

2027 - Six-Month Renewals

Some Health First Colorado members may need to renew their coverage every six months instead of once a year. Many renewals may be completed automatically. Other members may receive a request for updated information or documents.
