Colorado Access Names Keenan Freeman as Chief Financial Officer
AURORA, Colo. – Colorado Access announces the appointment of Keenan Freeman as the chief financial officer (CFO). Keenan, who began his position in September, brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in health care finance and operations, with expertise across Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), health insurance marketplace, Medicare Advantage, and other public and commercial lines of business. Keenan joins the company following the retirement of the previous CFO after 20 years of service to the company.
“Colorado Access has an important role in improving the health of Coloradans by leading with compassion, collaboration, and trust,” said Freeman. “I am honored to join the team and look forward to building on this strong foundation to ensure members, providers, and communities continue to thrive, and guide the company as it continues to navigate the changing health care landscape.”
Most recently, Freeman served as CFO of Inland Empire Health Plan, a California-based local health plan with more than 1.5 million members and annual revenues exceeding $7 billion. His career also includes a CFO role at Providence Medical Group in Oregon, where he directed financial and operational strategy for primary care and specialty clinics and at FirstCare Health Plans in Texas, where he held the positions of CFO, COO, and interim CEO.
“Keenan brings a deep understanding of health care, financial expertise, proven leadership, and a commitment to advancing access and equity,” said Annie Lee, president and CEO of Colorado Access. “His experience and vision will help guide our short- and long-term financial strategy as we continue to strengthen our mission of serving Coloradans.”
In his role as CFO, Freeman will oversee the financial strategy and performance for all companies within the Colorado Access corporate structure, including the Colorado Access Foundation. He will also work in close collaboration with the organization’s executive leadership team to advance operational excellence, support providers, and ensure sustainable growth.
